Senior High Camp: Days 3&4

Gimp rack! Brand new! Shiny!
Hey all! The past couple of days have been crazy busy between dish duty, paperwork and of course craft cabin..

Yesterday I continued with the looms, bracelets, and cross craft. Finally got some good shots of them!

But first.. I would like to point out my AMAZING gimp display/sales rack made by one of the volunteer maintenance crew :) I proudly display it in the window for all to see and the kids really like it, too. It's so much easier and SAFER than the nails that used to hold the spools.. anyhow.

Today we got right into crafting. Everyone wanted to take on a new craft/challenge and we finished most of the weavings today as well.
Big step forward for cabin pet: Cézanne was out for almost two hours today. The campers really enjoyed holding him and asking all sorts of questions. He eventually slid into one of the counselor's pockets for a hiding place and slept in there. Too funny. Everyone kept accusing the counselor of stealing him away!

Everyone hard at work.

"pull up on your lead color.. make a 4.."
I had a camper ask me to help him make a friendship bracelet. Talk about a blast from the past; I used to make these when I was a camper!
I was so happy I still remembered what I was doing for the chevron pattern haha. We were doing one string at a time, together, at one point. I think he got the hang of it eventually. He was pretty proud of his work :)

Here is the wire wrapping cross. One of my coworkers pointed out another significant element of this craft; the amount of nails. Two for the hands and one for the feet of Jesus. Go figure.. gotta brush up on my church crafts/knowledge!
Cubbies are filling up more by the day! :)
Favorite picture so far haha everyone is so ECSTATIC to be crafting!
I also introduced the sun catcher bead craft. The kids spent the last hour of crafts making those in the toaster oven and showing them off. Some of them turned out really cool; interesting color schemes and some campers spelled out words.

I am SO tired. I have been staying in one of the camper cabins at night as a chaperone and those kids are full of energy always! But it's great cause they always get me up and moving during craft hours :)

Tomorrow we are doing the can luminary craft. They have a dance/banquet tomorrow and thought it would be cool to decorate outside with their luminaries. I think we're gonna do shrinky dinks tomorrow, too.. depending on time.

I need a shower and my bed. Long day. So. Tired. Signing off!
